The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6311 car show planned for Saturday, May 10, might just be the most unusual car show of the year.

And it is not because of the cars although the annual VFW event typically draws classy restorations, sports cars, hot rods, pickups, and more.

What sets it apart this year is a  “special raffle” featuring two tribute rifles.

*The Henry Golden Boy 22.

*A VFW Post Tribute Rifle, 22LR.

There will also be two hand guns that the post will sell two decks of cards for each firearm to determine a winner.

The cards are $20 each. The raffle is at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.

The opening ceremony for the car show taking place in the grassy retention basin adjacent to Jimmie Connors Post 6311 at 580 Moffat Blvd. is set for 10:15 a.m. on May 10.

The post kitchen will be open selling food with the feature item being Lockeford sausages.

The car show will have sponsor choice awards.

There will also be other raffles.

The car show and raffle are a benefit for the post that has a current membership of 301 veterans.
