The Ripon Community National Day of Prayer Event is set for Thursday, May 1.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church located at 305 Boesch Drive, Ripon. The men’s choral group, Voices for the King, will once again join the observance and provide music ministry throughout the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers will be available and refreshments will be provided following the service which will conclude by 8:15 p.m.

Back in 2006, the First Christian Reformed Church in Ripon began hosting what has now become an annual tradition of bringing community leaders, pastors and citizens together in a united front of prayer for our city, state and nation. Representatives from the Police and Fire Departments, Modesto Pregnancy Center and the South San Joaquin Irrigation District will be in attendance to speak about the concerns of the community. Local pastors will lead in prayer for city leaders, emergency services, family, water and drought concerns affecting agriculture and industry, and prayer for the state and nation.

“One Voice United in Prayer” is the theme for our nation’s 63nd annual observance of the National Day of Prayer. The theme is based on the Bible verse from Romans 15:6 which states, “so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

From coast to coast, millions of Christians all across our nation will be joining in prayer on May 1 to bring glory to God and seek His mercy and grace over our communities and the nation. All are invited to join us in this community-wide gathering of prayer and praise. For additional information contact the church office, 599.3225.
