Flyers make pitch for Ripon dog park funds

The Friends of the Dog Park are in the process of requesting financial support to help make their dreams come true.

One way of doing that is via flyers.

Pet owners in the City of Ripon can expect to see a donation form upon receiving their renewal letters for dog licensing.

It’s the same donation flyer that was approved the Ripon City Council at last week’s meeting.

City Administrator Kevin Werner noted that the cost of providing these flyers came out less than $100 from the general fund.

The dog license renewals and the Friends of the Dog Park donation flyer are scheduled to be sent out later this month.

“We’re hoping that they’ll give a little to the dog park,” said Jaime Fountain of the local non-profit group.

She and Shelly Moulyn are the ones behind establishing Friends of the Dog Park, a group dedicated to assisting the community with sustaining a plan that will be “next to and behind the animal shelter,” Fountain said.

The animal shelter is located at 444 Doak Blvd.

Along with donations, Friends of the Dog Park are also looking for sponsors.

“This park will benefit the community as it will give pet owners and their dogs a place to exercise, socialize, and enjoy,” according to the fundraising flyer.

Friends of the Dog Park had an informational booth at Saturday’s Main Street Day.
