Budget cuts are forcing San Joaquin Regional Transit District to rethink how it provides weekday, weekend and commuter bus services.

Public input on service modifications targeted to go into effect July 1 are being accepted at a series of workshops. The Manteca workshop is this Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the McFall Room of the Manteca Library, 320 Center St.

The bus district has been hit by a combination of decreased funding and increased operating costs primarily due to the price of fuel.

The workshop will cover plans to modify weekday service, restructure weekend service, and make significant modifications and restructuring of commute service such as the buses that run from Manteca to Livermore lab.
