Sippin & Pickin at San Joaquin County Historical Museum

LODI - Sippin’ & Pickin’ in the Park, winetasting event with music, will be at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum in Micke Grove Park on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Fifteen wineries from the Lodi region and Amador County will be pouring their wines at the event on the museum grounds. Some of the wineries included are Borra, Watts, Peirano, Peltier Station, Jeremy, Dancing Coyote, Cycles Gladiator, Anderson, Bear Creek, Woodbridge and Delicato. Fitzpatrick and Ursa wineries from Amador County will pour their wines at the museum event.

There also will be sixteen craft booths featuring handcrafted items including jewelry, purses and items made from wine bottles. Two musical groups will perform on the grounds throughout the event. The afternoon will include a selection of cheeses from Lodi’s Cheese Central and other light appetizers and chances to win at the “Gift Basket Bonanza” drawing.

The event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the museum inside Micke Grove Park south of Lodi. Tickets are $30 each.

This event is the museum’s fundraiser to “Raise the Barn.” The barn is the new education building that the museum Docent Council needs to provide desperately needed space for the museum youth education programs including Farm to Fork, Museum Youth Camp, Valley Days and Pioneer School. Sippin’ & Pickin’ in the Park is one of several fundraisers in the docents’ “Raise the Barn” campaign.
