Jerry De Boer, a lifetime resident of Ripon, CA passed away suddenly on December 6, 2013.  He was 68 years old.  Jerry was born March 20, 1945 in French Camp, CA.  He attended Ripon Unified Schools and graduated in 1963 from Ripon High School.  Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served one tour in Vietnam.
   Jerry’s parents were Charles and Albertha De Boer.  His siblings are Freda Green, Sandra Camara, Judi Van Riet and Charlotte Wright.  Jerry met his wife, Cheryl Schmidt, in 1963 and they were married October, 29, 1966.  They were married for 47 years.  Jerry worked for De Boer’s Truck Lines before beginning New Highway Carrier’s with his wife and siblings.  He retired from the trucking industry in 2010.
   Jerry and Cheryl have two daughters, Angela Nunes and Renae De Boer-Gonzalez, who both live locally.  He also has four grandchildren, Stephanie Gonzalez, Seth Gonzalez, Ryan Nunes and Jacob Nunes.
   After Jerry retired, he enjoy attending Zion United Reformed Church, yard and garden work, and exercising. You could often see him riding his bike around town.  He also enjoyed attend plays at the Gallo Center with his family members.  His greatest joy was spending time with his four grandchildren.
   Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Albertha De Boer and his sister, Sandra Camara.
   Visitation will be held at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5 to 7pm.
   Burial will take place at Ripon Cemetery, December 13, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service and a luncheon at Zion United Reformed Church in Ripon on December 13, 2013 at 11:00a.m.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the Stockton Gospel Mission.
