Josephine Leandro, 94, entered into rest on July 24, 2010 in Manteca, California.

She was born on December 14, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Josephine Fontana. She joins her parents in heaven as well as her husband Tony Leandro, her son William Minaudo, and her siblings, Antoinette Paxia, Anita Paxia, and Frank Fontana.

Josephine is survived by her two daughters, Jean Flanagan of Modesto and Jo Minaudo of Manteca. She was blessed by 7 grandchildren; Mike Minaudo, Josie Davis, Debbie Hernandez, John Minaudo, Don Minaudo, Linda Pate, and Anthony Flanagan, and 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. In addition she has two surviving siblings, Mary Kline of Stockton and Joe Fontana of France.

Josephine enjoyed entertaining family and friends with authentic Italian food. She love cooking and dancing in her younger years. Her cats were her best friends; she took great care of them tending to their every need. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors with her flowers. She always raved about her trips to Italy with her sister and her trips to Mexico relaxing, enjoying the authentic Mexican culture. Josephine will be remembered for her sweet nature, her giving spirit, and her willingness to help others in need. She will be missed.

Mrs. Leandro’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A Rosary / Mass will be held on Friday July 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St., Manteca. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Mausoleum. An online guest book / tribute wall is available for condolences and special messages at www.plfryandson.com.
