Juanita Monroy Cambra, 92, entered into rest on November 2, 2010 in Manteca, California. She was born on September 18, 1918 in Oahu, Hawaii. She was a resident of Manteca for the past 5 years.

 Juanita is survived by her children; Priscilla Mendonca of Honolulu, Henry Galang of Canada, Rosita Castro of Manteca, Dahlia Castro-Smith of Pasadena, Melissa Hendricks of Bakersfield, and Francisco Castro Jr. of Los Angeles. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren; Patrick Iseke, Errolyn Springer, Joey Galang, Gavin Galang, Michael Aquino, Serena Aquino, Lanette Munoz, Michelle Cerda, Tiare Smith, Mia Hendricks, Vernita Castro, and Victor Castro. and 9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition Juanita has 3  surviving siblings; Edna Rojas of San Jose, Dorothy Morales of Honolulu and Angie Argayoso of Honolulu.
 Juanita loved her children first and foremost and was an accomplished musician, singer, dancer, and lover of her native Hawaiian music. She was known to her family and friends for her wonderful cooking and had a true gift of “socializing.” Her zest for life was like no other.  Juanita will be remembered for her spunky attitude her great sense of humor and her deep love for her family.

Mrs. Monroy-Cambra’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Saturday Nov. 6, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. held at P.L. Fry 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. She will be laid to rest in her home town of Honolulu,Hawaii at a later date. An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com under obituaries.
