Patricia Ann Patty Reece
September 6, 1948-December 10, 2015
Patricia Ann Reece bw

Patricia Ann “Patty” Reece was born on September 6, 1948 to George and Margaret Enos in Santa Clara, CA. Two years later the Enos family moved to Ripon, where Patty lived for 65 years before passing away on December 10, at the age of 67 at Bethany Home. Patty attended Ripon Elementary School and graduated from Ripon High in 1966. On September 21, 1968 she married her high school sweetheart, Dave Reece, and in 1974 their son Lance was born. Patty worked for many years prior to Lance’s birth at Sharpe Army Depot. After becoming a mother, she desired a career that would allow her to set her own schedule to better meet the needs of her beloved family. Patty was a born leader, and after attending Jane Riddle’s School of Electrolysis in Modesto she became a licensed electrologist and opened her own business in Manteca: “Electrolysis by Patty” located on Center Street. She thoroughly enjoyed her longtime clients who became her friends as well. Long-famous as the “Hostess with the Mostest” among her family and friends, more recently she joyfully unleashed her inner Martha Stewart professionally by organizing and hosting weddings and events on a farm she and Dave owned in Farmington. She was a party planner extraordinaire, up in the wee hours before small family gatherings and large events alike, making sure every minute detail was just perfect. Her greatest talents were also her hobbies: baking and decorating lavish cakes, creating gorgeous and delicious desserts, hosting perfect parties, and gardening—Martha had nothing on Patty! She also loved going to Pismo Beach, camping on the dunes with her family, and enjoying her respite away from home, her cabin in Mi Wuk.
Patty was dedicated to the Omicron Beta Sorority, of which she was a member for 39 years. Her sorority sisters and the functions they organized were a huge part of Patty’s life, and the friendships she formed within the sorority were dear to her. She also enjoyed her Bunco group, and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon.
Patty is survived by her adored son Lance (Cindy) Reece of Escalon, her granddaughter and “light-of-her-life” Taylor Reece of Escalon, her beloved step-granddaughter Michaela of Escalon, her husband Dave Reece of Farmington, her mother Margaret Enos Spangenberg of Ripon, her sisters Judy (Joe) Luis of Ripon and Debbie (Dave) Phippen of Ripon, her brother Dennis (Cheri) Enos of Fresno, and her brother-in-law Tyler Reece of Ripon. She is also survived by nieces Kristen (Jason) Clark of Ripon, Mindy (Kevin) Genasci of Ripon, and Janie (Nick) Gatzman of Oakdale, nephew Chris Phippen of Oakdale, nephew and godson Jason Enos of Chicago, IL, as well as eight great nephews and nieces.
Patty fought a valiant 15-month battle with glioblastoma, an incurable brain tumor. She was strong, courageous, and steadfast in the face of a terminal diagnosis. Patty was passionate in all that she did, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family is extremely grateful to Bethany Home and Optimal Hospice Care for their loving care of Patty in her final months, from the skilled medical staff to the housekeeping services—all were appreciated.
