   Robert “Bob” Mack entered into rest on November 16, 2014 in Manteca, CA. He was born on July 12, 1929 in Kranzburg, Codington Co South Dakota. He joins his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Mack in heaven as well as his siblings Mary Ann Friske, Ralph Mack, Francis Mack, Al Mack, Phil Mack, Anthony Mack. Her children, now deceased, and waiting for him in heaven are Alan Dale Janke, Mark Lee Janke, and Pamela Janke. grandson, Mark Lee Janke, Jr.
   Mr. Mack is survived by his loving wife Dorthy Mack. He was a wonderful father to the children of his wife Dorthy and her children Douglas Janke, David Janke and Alden Janke. He was blessed with four grandchildren; Michelle, Ty, Jayson and Jennifer and her husband Michael Powers and their three children, Halee, Alyssa and Emily as well as, the following  great-grandchildren; Ty Jr., Zack, Austin, Katelyn, Chayslin, Ketcher, Audrey., Mara Fay and Cody Savannah.  In addition Bob has one surviving brother Duwayne Mack. of Watertown, SD. There are many, many nieces and nephews who live in SD and will miss him very much.
   Bob was Administrative Engineer for San Jose Hospital for over 30 years. During Bob’s career he was very active in helping to establish the California Society for Healthcare Engineering (CSHE) and was the first President of this organization.  In 1986 the Board of CSHE created the Robert Mack Scholarship Foundation which was dedicated to offering scholarships to those individuals intending to work in an occupation directly involved with healthcare engineering.  He was also Past President of American Society Hospital Engineering and was also a Fellow recipient of ASHE.  Bob had several degrees in Engineering.  He also became a state certified official OSHA inspector. He was well thought of among the Hospital Engineering family.  Bob was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus.  It was with great regret that he had been unable to participate in the activities of the Knights of Columbus for the past two years.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Mack family. A visitation will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil service at 7:00 p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A mass will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
