Roland (Ronnie) R. Smith 77, entered into rest on June 29, 2016 in Manteca, CA. He was born on June 7, 1939 in French Camp, California.
   He leaves behind his loving wife Janet Smith of Ripon, his children; Jeff Smith of Modesto, Randy Smith of Manteca, Cathy Sanford (Lindsay) of WA, Ken Hedberg (Barb) of Modesto, Kim Hedberg of Manteca, Kris Hedberg of Stockton and Kathy Warren (Frank) of Stockton. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Chaz Smith, Nicole Stanford, Conner Stanford, Kenneth Hedberg, Mitchell Spence, Rachell Hedberg, Frank Warren, Brian Warren and Nick Warren.
   Roland was a Manteca/Ripon resident. He was born into a family of farmers and would carry on his families work principles for many years.  He enjoyed the outdoors and had a bountiful garden.  He enjoyed sharing his seasonal crops with all his family and neighbors.  He was a hard worker, and always made time for family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be dearly missed.  
   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Smith family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.     
   Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon, California.
