It’s with great sadness that the family of Samuel Thomas Batres announces his passing on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, at the age of 82 years old.

   Born in Kansas City, Kansas, on April 14th, 1941, he moved to Stockton, California as a child. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963. He retired as an instructor from the San Joaquin Army Depot in Tracy, Ca.  Sam enjoyed alone time with his wife, and quality time with his family. He liked watching tennis, softball, history, and cooking shows. He also enjoyed lake and large mouth bass fishing. He liked to listen to music by Barbara Streisand and Janis Joplin.

   He is survived by his wife, Judy Renea Batres, children, Scott Batres, Evangeline Archerda (Ellis), Tony Batres (Janie), and Dion Batres (Rachel), brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald Cobb (Vicki), grandchildren Justine Batres, Landon Batres, Katelyn Archerda, and Lillian Archerda and Alyssa Archerda

   A Celebration of Sam’s life will be held from 12-3 p.m, on Saturday, March 13th, at their home.
