Victoria Florence Costa 88, a lifelong resident of Manteca passed away in Stockton on June 6, 2012. Better known as Vicky, she was born on May 27, 1924 on the corner of Sedan and Manteca roads, where the home she was born in is still standing next to the family homestead. She was the wife of Raymond M. Costa who preceded her in death. Vicky loved to sit on the porch and read while her hummingbirds would fly by and enjoyed tending her garden. Gambling was her favorite and she wouldn't miss a bus trip to Jackson. When she wasn't able to go gambling she enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be leaving behind her beloved four children, Raymond Costa Jr. and wife Michele from Bakersfield, Florence Yamasaki and husband Jim from Manteca, Lorraine Holmes and husband Ron from Scottsboro, Alabama and Ramona Costa of Manteca.
Her grandchildren are; Kim and Brian Bettencourt, Jamie Yamasaki and Manuel Leija, Nicole and Raymond Melendez, Cheryl and Jason Silva, Stephanie Eaves and Terry Lowe, and Steven and Tiffany Eaves II from Manteca, Jason and Laura Holmes and Melanie and Casey Clark from Alabama. Raymond Costa II and his sister Dee Dee Losurdo-Harris of Arkansas, Jenny Yamasaki and Robbie Ralph from Washington.
She also leaves behind many great grandchildren; Whitney Costa, Franchesca Kennedy and Nicholas Salas all from Arkansas, Nicholas Bettencourt, Aleah, Alysa, Maddox and Madden Melendez of Manteca, Caitlyn, Emily and Sara Grace Holmes of Alabama, Taylor and Haley Clark also from Alabama, Steven III, Ethan, Maxiumus Eaves,Taylor Nemie, Alexis Silva all of Manteca, Jonathon and Kylie Ralph of Washington and two great-great grandchildren; Serentiy and Larhia Costa of Arkansas.
Arrangements for Ms. Costa are under the direction of P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road Manteca. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012, from 9:00am to 11:00am immediately following a chapel service.
