Wayne Anthony Olivares, Sr., 63, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 with his family by his side.
He was born Nov. 20, 1945 in Oakdale.
Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Maria J. Olivares; children Julia Smith of Stockton, Wayne A. Olivares, Jr. and wife Kelly, and Ronald F. Olivares II all of Manteca; nine grandchildren; siblings Jeffery Olivares and wife Gloria of Manteca, Ronald Olivares of Ripon, Sharon Smith of Manteca, Rick Moffatt and wife Jamie, Cindy Moffatt, all of Ripon; brother & sister-in-law; Maria Bradd and husband Charles of OR, Peter Torres and wife Crystal of San Andreas, Irene Crosby and husband Chester of FL, George Torres of Stockton, Ruth Shiffler and husband Michael of Manteca, Toni Hayward and husband Kevin of SC, Dolores Torres of Stockton; and numerous other family members and friends.   
Wayne joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong resident of the Manteca and Stockton area. He was an adoring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Wayne will be remembered best for being a devoted family man. He had a magnificent sense of humor and was always very outgoing. Wayne was a simple man and enjoyed so much in life; cooking, fishing, cartoons, flea markets, and liked to try his luck at the casinos. He was very creative and enjoyed wood working, drawing and crafts, the family always looked forward to their hand made greeting cards for every holiday.
Wayne will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Vigil and Memorial Prayer Service is being held on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, 11 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the American Heart Association, 1212 W. Robinhood #A-1, Stkn, CA 95207.
