William, age 90, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by loving family.

Born in Oklahoma on April 15, 1921. He married his life long love, Edna Simes, in Reno, NV, on July 11, 1972. They spent 37 wonderful years together.

He served in the Army as a 1st LT during WW II in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. He was then employed by California Youth Authority for 25 years.  After his first retirement he was Head Security Officer at Turtle Beach and Two Rivers. He was an avid fisherman, loved flowers, gardening and a well groomed lawn.

Survived by children: Marjie Martin Brenger and husband Steven, Peggy Martin Thomson and husband Kay, Mary (Patty) McKenzie, Alice Maldondo and husband John, Annette Adkins, John Gunn and wife Kathy, and Jimmy Gun , 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, Brothers James and J D Martin, sister Lucille Miller
and sister-in-law Gladys Alviso. Preceded in death by wife Edna, children Barbara M Araujo, Catherine Ambrose and Carl Gunn; grandchildren Jimmy Gunn Jr. and Ricky Gunn; brother Owen Martin and sister Bessie Jean M Mattice.

The Family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Wolf and the wonderful staff at Doctors Hospital for all their TLC.

Services will be held at Park View Funeral Home, 1661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca, CA 95336, on Saturday September 17, 2011 at 11 am. Visitation on Friday from 10am to 5pm, also 9am to 1045 am prior to the funeral.
Internment will be at the Park View Cemetery
immediately following the service.
