California Connections enrolling students

California Connections Academy @ Ripon is more than a tuition-free, virtual public school.

“I love that my days are never repetitive and there is always something new to learn,” said Delaney Bagneschi, who is a student at the school servicing transitional kindergarten through 12th grade.

Students who are enrolled in this virtual school are from most of Northern California – Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and, of course, San Joaquin counties.

They not only work at a flexible pace but can expand their learning opportunities thanks to such offerings as Connections Academy’s 3-D Computer Modeling and Forensic Science.

California Connections Academy @ Ripon is currently enrolling students for the 2018-2019 school year, with info sessions being available throughout the spring (for more information, log on to www.california.connectionsacademy.com or call 800.382.6010).

The local K-12 virtual school has its benefits.

“Being able to get in touch will all my teachers when I have subject questions or just questions in general has never been easier,” Bagneschi said.

Using advanced technology tools to go along with a rigorous curriculum, teachers there work closely with students to develop an individualized learning plan. They do so by nurturing their strengths while providing additional support for areas of difficulty.

California Connections Academy provides a high-quality curriculum. Included are honors and AP classes, digital technology and career technical courses. Students can become part of National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, or Advancement Via Individual Determination program in preparation for college.

“It’s our mission to offer students a flexible and high-quality learning option that suits their academic needs,” said Amy Hunt, site administrator for California Connections Academy @ Ripon. “For prospective families, we recommend attending the free online or in-person information session to learn more about virtual school at Connections Academy.”
