RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — Omar Estevez was a double short of the cycle, driving in four runs and scoring three as the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes topped the Stockton Ports 8-0 on Wednesday.
Jeren Kendall homered and doubled with three RBIs for Rancho Cucamonga.
In the bottom of the first, Rancho Cucamonga grabbed the lead on a solo home run by Gavin Lux and a two-run home run by Estevez. The Quakes then added a run in the fifth and four in the seventh. In the fifth, Kendall hit an RBI double, while Kendall hit a two-run home run in the seventh.
Isaac Anderson (1-4) got the win with three innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Stockton starter Jake Bray (1-2) took the loss in the California League game.
The Ports were blanked for the sixth time this season, while the Quakes’ staff recorded their second shutout of the year.
Despite the loss, Stockton is 8-3 against Rancho Cucamonga this season.
