Lathrop stuns EU Lancers

Keonnee Linnell directed the Lathrop freshmen to a 40-6 win over visiting East Union on Thursday in Valley Oak League at Dino Cunial Field.

 Linnell was 3 for 3 passing for 113 yards including a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game for the Spartans to Harvey Cuellar. Linnell had a 1-yard scoring plunge late in the first period and Cuellar scored on a 40-yard run in the third quarter.

 Lathrop’s Michael Ramos carried the ball four times for 128 yards with touchdown runs of 45 and 50 yards. Mattox Harrell added 44 yards on two carries.

 Antonio Marquez returned an interception for a 25-yard Spartans touchdown and led a defense that included big plays by Shawn Cummings ( fumble recovery), Ramon Kaweiss, Dominic Archibeque and Cesar Zuniga.

 Late in the fourth quarter Kenny Wilkinson threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Manny Rodriguez for the Lancers.

Manteca 40, Kimball 0

Kobe Shippley scored three first-half touchdowns for the Buffaloes.

Shippley scored on runs of 6, 28 and 33 yards, finishing with 133 yards on 12 carries. Seth Owings (six carries, 62 yards) scored on a 9-yard run and Ferrin Manulelua from 3 yards out. Matthew Ender added 55 yards on four carries.

 The only points of the second half came on a safety by Manteca’s Presley Keltner in the third quarter.

Ferrin Manuleleua and Vincent Ferro added three tackles apiece for the Buffaloes.

Oakdale 48, Sierra 12

Caden Worth help offset a Timberwolves rushing effort that accumulated negative yardage byu throwing for two touchdowns.

 Worth was 4 of 12 for 157 yards with a 63-yard touchdown pass to Daemon Duran and 70 yards to David Reyes.

 Duran had six tackles for Sierra, Reyes five, Travis Weems four, Elijah Jacobsen three with Brandy James making an interception, Pablo Salcedo forcing a fumble and Carson Anderson recovering a fumble.
