For four quarters on Friday both Manteca and Sierra high school sophomore teams battled in Valley Oak League action, but when time was complete the two clubs were tied 13-13.

Sierra was able to get a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jared Silviera to Chris Stevens and another 20-yard screen-pass for a score to Devin Nunez.

The Sierra defensive unit held the Buffaloes to the two offensive scores, but did not budge with the game in the balance. Sierra’s Rob Silva also got on the board for the Timberwolves with a fumble recovery for a score.

Manteca will try to get things figured out Friday against Sonora, while Sierra will look for two straight against the Kimball Jaguars.
