STOCKTON — Nick Gonzales led all players with a six-under-par 42 and spearheaded Manteca High’s golf team to a close 247-256 win over host Weston Ranch at Van Buskirk Golf Course Wednesday.
The win puts the Buffaloes at an even 4-4 at the midway point of the Valley Oak League season.
Manteca also got a big contribution from Kenny Summers, who matched Weston Ranch leader Ryan Ortiz’s 43.
Rounding out the Buffaloes’ score were Casey Benson with a 50, Tim Baker a 55 and Derek Benson a 57.
Joseph Renaud turned in a respectable 48 from the No. 6 spot for Weston Ranch. James Aragon and Tim Weatherwax each added a 52, and Thomas Medeiros carded 61.
Manteca will next participate in the Bear Creek Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton April 5.
