East Union crushes Kimball with 17 hits

TRACY —The East Union Lancers improved to 3-0 in Valley Oak League play with an 11-1 victory at Kimball on Thursday.

Michelle Castro led the hit parade for East Union (9-0 overall) with three including a home run and five RBIs. In addition, Alejandra Rascon had two hits, a double, and four RBI for the Lancers. Allison Tajii chipped in a 3-for-3 effort, Sam Owen went 3 for 5 and Taylor Ward and Izabella Owen added two knocks apiece in the hit parade. The Lancers totaled 17 hits.

Junior hurler Delaney Pamplin went the distance, allowing the lone run late in the game.

Kimball dropped to 1-2 in league, 1-6 overall.

 

Oakdale 6, Manteca 2

OAKDALE — The Mustangs scored three in the third and rolled to another VOL win.

The Buffaloes (3-2 VOL) scored both of their runs – Tawny Deerinck’s two-run homer plated Melissa Hansen – on their first at-bat.

Morgan Miramontes and Hansen, who also doubled, led Manteca with two hits each.

Oakdale (3-0 VOL) tallied 13 hits while scoring two more runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth.
