Brittany LaMar was named Freshman of the Year, while Jillian Goulart joined her former teammate on the all-California Pacific Conference softball first team.

The 2011 East Union graduates now compete against each other for the conference’s two top teams. Goulart, an outfielder, helped Simpson University (11-4, 25-25 overall) of Redding earn the regular-season title.

LaMar is the starting catcher for runner-up William Jessup University (10-5, 24-17). She batted .361 with nine doubles five homers and 26 RBIs for the Warriors of Rocklin. In conference play she batted .434 and boasted a .642 slugging percentage.

Simpson and Jessup are currently playing in an NAIA regional postseason tournament.
