RIPON — Coming off its first loss of the Southern League season, Gustine visited Ripon Christian on Tuesday and came away with a one-sided 5-0 victory.

The Knights (2-5 SL, 4-10 overall) were never in the match and trailed 3-0 at halftime after surrendering goals in the 11th, 31st and 40th minutes.

“I simply felt that we were not threatening Gustine,” Ripon Christian coach Keith Terpsma said. “Our halftime talk consisted of playing more physically and jumping in front of players.”

Ripon Christian showed more fight to start the second half, but the quick-striking Redskins (6-1, 10-8-2) iced the win with more goals in the 54th and 58th minutes.

The Knights welcome Le Grand Thursday to begin the second half of the SL schedule.
