OAKDALE – Even with the wind the East Union varsity girls manage to make things happen.

Standout Jackie Ketner posted a match-best 3-over-par 39 on at Oakdale Country Club to help the Lancers remain unbeaten in Valley Oak League play this year with a 240-311 victory over Oakdale.

Assisted by Jillian Goulart’s 46, the pair of 51 marks recorded by Frances Telles and Tori Souza, and Heather Craft’s 53, the Lancers took another step towards what could be their fourth straight Sac-Joaquin Section Title.

“Shooting a 39 on a tough Oakdale course on a windy day like this is one of the best rounds of golf that we’ve seen in a really long time,” East Union coach Dennis Wells said. “To be able to come out and do that on a day like we saw today was pretty remarkable.”
The win improves East Union’s league record to 9-0.

Led by Chandler Rose’s round-best 47 and aided by the low-posting of Danielle Roberts and her 49, the Manteca girls varsity golf team shot their way to a 266-320 victory over the Weston Ranch Cougars Tuesday afternoon at Van Buskirk Golf Course.

Kaylee Joaquin carded a 53 while Micaela Dias shot 57 on the day and Melissa Bond rounded out the scoring for Manteca with a 60.

Michelle Lord recorded a 57 for Weston Ranch and Courtney Duran shot a 58 to post the low scores for Weston Ranch.
