East Union’s girls soccer team dominated Lathrop 4-0 at Dino Cunial Field Friday to maintain its wide lead atop the Valley Oak League standings.

The Lancers (10-0, 16-1-2) are gunning for their first conference championship in 11 years and currently ranked third in the state and eighth nationally among spring soccer squads by MaxPreps.

Selena daSilva, Marissa King and Isela Rivera each had a goal and an assist. Megan Wallace pounded in the lone goal scored in the second half. Lathrop (1-8, 3-13-1) was limited to just one shot attempt.

“I believe Lathrop is developing a strengthened program anchored by a good keeper,” East Union coach Jim Todd said. “This win was one we had to battle to take. We did not play our characteristic game of tough and control, but we managed a shutout.”

East Union has a tough week ahead with Oakdale on the road Monday and Kimball visiting Wednesday.
