Ripon Christian’s boys basketball team was able to negate 6-foot-10 Brendan Keane in its NorCal Division V quarterfinal at St. Joseph Notre Dame in Alameda Thursday.

The Knights just had no answers for St. Joe’s suffocating defense.

With senior standout Logan Vos held to four points, ninth-seeded Ripon Christian ended its season with a 52-32 defeat against the bracket’s No. 1-ranked squad.

Brothers Jared and Jordan Goslinga, both 6-4 juniors, combined to limit Keane, a Northern Colorado commit, to just five points.

Ripon Christian (25-7) battled tough in the early going. The score was knotted for the last time at 15-all until Jacari Whitfield (11 points) scored with 21.2 seconds left in the opening quarter.

St. Joseph (24-8) allowed just six total points over the next two periods, and the rout was on.

Sophomore Dan Vos led the Southern League champions with 12 points, and Jared Goslinga chipped in nine.

The Pilots face No. 5 Vacaville Christian tonight at 7 in the semifinal round. Vacaville Christian beat RC in the semifinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-V playoffs before capturing the pennant.
