There was no letting down for Ripon Christian’s volleyball team on Thursday.
The Knights had little trouble dispatching visiting Waterford 25-4, 25-9, 25-18 just days after sweeping second-place Mariposa in a well-played contest.
Ripon Christian caps the first half of Southern League play with a 7-0 record (11-3 overall), improving to 35-0 since rejoining the conference in 2010.
“In the second game we started mixing and matching our lineup. In the third we emptied the bench a little bit, but Waterford did play well, too,” RC coach Tiger Shelton said.
Kristy Van Diver pounded 10 kills to lead the attack, while Andie Shelton handed out 22 assists. Stephanie Vande Pol came up with two blocks, Brittany Petlansky turned in 10 digs and Kaylie Colyn finished with five aces. Ripon Christian was able to establish control early from the service line.
Ripon Christian will prepare for a busy week, as it takes on Denair and Gustine before travelling to San Jose for the competitive Presentation Tournament.
