Ripon boys, Sierra girls shine in weather-shortened MJC invite

 MODESTO — The Ripon boys tallied five top-five finishers, and the Sierra girls had four Friday in the Modesto Junior College High School Invitational in a meet that was truncated halfway through due to weather conditions.

Ripon’s Marcus Madoski won the boys high jump (5 feet, 10 inches) and was third in the triple jump (39-10 ½). Teammates Jacob Lawrence was second in the 400 (55.54), Ricky Langenfeld third in the 400 (56.36) and Brett Shaw fourth in the 110 hurdles (17.75)

For the Sierra girls, the 4x800 relay team of Jessica Miranda, Arely Serrano, Serena Dittman and Marilyn Reyes-Vidal was first (10:40.74), Aileen Montero was second in the high jump (4-8), the 4x100 relay team of Zhanee Sutton, Alani Mullenix, Deonna Wilson and Anayah Wills was third (51.55) and Alexandra Chapman finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (16.77).

Sierra’s Anthony Grady won the boys triple jump (42-3) and the Timberwolves boys 4x800 relay team of Manuel Alvarez, Tristan Crowe, Christian Gonzalez and Landen Nabb finished first (8:27.89). Manteca’s Oscar Angel won the 1,600 (4:36.74) and the Buffaloes 4x100 relay team of Kaden MacDannald, Juju Moncada, Alijah Marshall and Jayden Scarver was second (43.98). The East Union 4x100 relay team of Jackson Fay, Cesar Salinas, Anthony Morales and J.P. Abrew finished first (42.91).

Ripon’s Starla Skiles won the girls 100 hurdles (16.08) and for East Union the 4x100 relay team of Caliyah Lopez, Kinsley Herrera, Kaylee Mejia and Marley Arrizano was fourth (52.05) and Linda Medrano finished fifth in the 1,600 (5:42.91)

Manteca’s Nikko Juarez won the boys junior varsity long jump (19-3), and the Buffaloes 4x100 relay team of Daniel Rivera-Cruz, William Brown, Mateo Esparza and Josiah Martinez finished first (45.85).
