STOCKTON (AP) — Sean Murphy hit a run-scoring double in the first inning, leading the Stockton Ports to a 6-4 win over the Lake Elsinore Storm on Monday.
Nolan Blackwood struck Michael Gettys out with runners on first and third to end the game for his sixth save of the season.
Skye Bolt scored on Murphy’s double to give the Ports a 1-0 lead after he led off the inning with a double.
The Ports later added three runs in the second and one in the fifth and sixth to secure the victory.
Andrew Tomasovich (2-1) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Thomas Dorminy (1-1) took the loss in the California League game.
The five extra-base hits for Stockton included a season-high five doubles.
For the Storm, Josh Naylor homered and singled.
