Hernandez’s double leads Visalia to win over Modesto

VISALIA (AP) — Ramon Hernandez hit a run-scoring double in the eighth inning, leading the Visalia Rawhide to a 7-5 win over the Modesto Nuts on Thursday.

The double by Hernandez started the scoring in a three-run inning and tied the game 5-5. Later in the inning, Visalia took the lead when Adam Walton hit an RBI single and then added to it when Walton scored on a forceout.

The Rawhide cut the deficit to 5-4 when Dominic Miroglio scored on a forceout in the fifth.

Wei-Chieh Huang (4-1) got the win with three innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Michael Koval (0-3) took the loss in the California League game. Tommy Eveld retired the side in order for his sixth save of the season.

Kyle Lewis homered and singled, driving in two runs for the Nuts.
