Vinny Diaz scored three touchdowns Saturday for the varsity Manteca Jr. Buffaloes in their 46-0 shellacking of the visiting Riverbank Outlaws in the opening round of the Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer playoffs at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Diaz (10 carries, 152 yards) returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown added 19- and 64-yard touchdown runs. Brach Carabello (six completions, 85 yards passing) found Navi Murillo (76 yards on seven carries, 12 yards on two receptions) with a 7-yard touchdown pass and John Ellis (24 yards on three carries, 21 yards on two receptions) scored on a 5-yard run.
Grant Catalano paced the Jr. Buffaloes with five tackles followed by Kristian Miranda and Manny Pablo with four stops apiece. Aiden Freitas, Isreal Juarez, Ellis, Grayson Keller and Arieon Shortridge all contributed to the defense.
Lodi Jr. Flames 46, Manteca Cowboys 14
Manteca’s Mateo Salcido and Aiden Howe each scored a touchdown.
Salcido (11 carries, 70 yards) posted a 3-yard touchdown run and Aiden Howe returned a kickoff 8 yards for a touchdown. Jackson Coenenberg contributed to the offense.
Mateo Montez paced the Jr. Buffaloes with seven tackles. Howe and Nicholas Rangel added five stops, Noah Cedano four and Ernesto Cruz three. Mateo Ramirez, Paul Hayter, Jayden Aplinche and Jack Bennetti all contributed to the defense.
Lathrop Jr. Spartans 38, Ceres Bulldogs 12
Lathrop’s Logan Martinez scored a pair of touchdowns.
Martinez (14 carries, 115 yards) scored on 5- and 14-yard touchdown runs. Alluis Lopez (81 yards, seven carries) scampered 44 yards for a score, Zyann Reyno (nine carries, 53 yards) scored on a 13-yard run, Jackson Guardiola (2 of 4 passing, 39 yards; two carries, 10 yards) hit Brayden Yajko (two receptions, 32 yards) with a 25-yard touchdown pass.
Juan Pablo-Florez (fumble recovery) and Manuel Lupercio posted seven tackles for the Jr. Spartans, Carlos Rivera and Carlos Gutierrez six apiece, Lopez (forced fumble) and Martinez five apiece.

Manteca’s A.J. Haines threw for a pair of touchdowns and Jet Johnson scored two touchdowns.
Haines (10 passes, 127 yards) hit Quinnie Dunbar (three carries, 21 yards; four receptions, 65 yards) with a 22-yard touchdown throw and Johnson (two receptions, 48 yards) with one of 13 yards. Johnson scored on a 65-yard touchdown run, Jayden Jordan (three carries, 79 yards) on a 79-yard kickoff return and Dre Johnson (eight carries, 70 yards) on a 9-yard run.
Wyatt Hernandez posted six tackles for Jr. Buffaloes, Adrian Reyes, Gabriel Torres, and Jeremiah Silva five each, Jet Johnson (interception) and Dunbar three apiece. Sir Fields, Jayden Shortridge, Jakob Husband, and Kaleb Diaz all contributed to the defense.

Lathrop’s Dominic Ramos scored the game’s lone touchdown on a 22-yard run.
Ramos gained 66 yards on 12 carries. Jordan Romo (eight carries, 35 yards), Jace Williams (seven carries, 32 yards and Jeremiah Moore (six carries, 32 yards) rounded out the Jr. Spartans attack.
Moses Ramirez-Hernandez paced the Jr. Spartans with 10 tackles. Williams added nine stops, Romo seven, Ethan Jones six, Claudio Rivera five and Moore four.
C,J. Stevens and A.J. Aguirre paced the Manteca offense.
Aguirre and Ruben Cedano tallied eight tackles each, Stevens and Jayden Grimal seven apiece and Ronaldo Ruelas five.

Manteca’s Jeremiah Williams tallied a pair of touchdowns on 32- and 48-yard runs. Harrison Catalano (three carries, 46 yards) scored a 6-yard touchdown run, Jessy Arceo (three carries, 46 yards) added a 4-yard scoring run, Evan Hernandez (five carries, 47 yards) chipped in a 1-yard plunge and Gilbert Maldonado scored form 37 yards out.
Arceo tallied six tackles, Michael Somera (fumble recovery, forced fumble) and Gilbert Maldonado four each and Harrison Catalano three. Jaxon DeBarr, Jeremiah Williams, Malachi Wright, James Gordley, and Tiger Singh contributed to the defense.

Manteca’s Alejandro Hernandez ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more.
Hernandez (110 yards passing, 97 yards rushing) hit Aaron Hernandez (98 yards receiving) with a touchdown pass and Adriel Cedano (156 yards rushing) ran for two touchdowns.
Joel Castillo made seven tackles for the Cowboys. Adriel Cedano added four tackles, an interception and a forced fumble and Aaron Hernandez (three tackles) recovered a fumble.

Manteca’s Kayden Edwards (three carries, 74 yards) scored on runs of 25 and 32 yards. Lennox Fryer added a 1-yard scoring plunge and Brixxton Fryer scored from 28 yards out. Jace Texeira and Roberto Jauregui chipped in to the offense.
Jose Cortez Jr. made four tackles, Kota Lang, Carter Louis, and Angelo Lopez each tallied three stops. Adrian Mena, Texeira, Tate Gallardo, Dayson Powell, Brixxton Fryer, Carter Louis, and Tobias Valentine all contributed to the defense that allowed less than 10 total yards.

Lathrop’s Aiden Teramu was a perfect 4 for 4 passing for 88 yards.
Teramu connected with Isaac Certuche (three receptions, 71 yards; five carries, 89 yards) with a 65-yard touchdown pass and Certuche added a 77-yard touchdown run.
Gio Sanchez led the Jr Spartans with eight tackles. Nicolas Stevens added seven stops and Certuche six.

Ripon Chiefs varsity 34, Denair Lions 0
Ripon posted its fourth shutout of the year to finish the regular season 10-0.
John Raudabaugh, Henry Cook, Mason Dodson, and Max Durrer scored rushing touchdowns for the Chiefs. Jayden Costa, Jacob Dominquez and Austin McDowell led the Ripon defense.

Chiefs 38, Lions 0
Ripon’s Vincent Long set the tone for the game when he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and the Chiefs never looked back, finishing the regular season undefeated.
Tyson Santiago ran in two touchdowns for the Chiefs offense that racked up 228 total yards.
Ripon held Denair to just 11 total yards and was led by Titus de la Torre, Jackson Hale, L.J. Santiago, and Brady Sarratt.
Jr. Novice
Ripon Knights 35, Salida Eagles 6
Ripon’s Gil Rangel and Ben Holfman scored two touchdowns.
Rangel racked up 135 yards on seven carries and Holfman totaled 55 yards on six carries. Grayson Campbell (four carries, 55 yards) added another Knights score and Mac Ward chipped in 42 yards on three carries.
Ripon’s Mack Ward made five tackles recovered a fumble. Holfman and
Walter De Jong added four stops, Campbell, Nicolas Rangel and Hudson Browne made three tackles apiece. Gil Rangel, Nicolas Pantoja, Gunnar Gorbunoff, Malachi Clayton and Michael MacNeilage all contributed to the defense.
