Phenom U7 coach-pitch team garners season title

The Manteca Phenom, a 7-and-under coach-pitch baseball team, completed its summer schedule undefeated, including winning a four-team post-season tournament.

The Phenom played under the umbrella of USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association), a competitive nationwide baseball association that supports the overall development of all baseball players by among other things including national tournament play.

Consisting of 13 players from the Manteca area, the Phenom played a total of 14 games in a TPR baseball league with TPR being a subsidiary of USSAA that hosts USSSA tournaments and leagues in the Central Valley region. The games for this league were played at Big League Dreams and Mistlin Sports Complex.

The coaching staff for the Phenom includes East Union graduates Marshall Swift and Eric Texeira along with John Oliveria, Mike Wise, and Mike Wright.

Phenom team members are Cutter Asuncion, Kaleb Colon, Bryston Fantazia, Brixxton Fryer, Camden Lee, Blake Lewis, Luke Oliveria, Tyson Santiago, Derringer Spangler, Wyatt, Jaxon Swift, Jace Texeira and Malachi Wright.
