White Sox claim Manteca LL minor, major titles

Jackson Douglas of the White Sox laced a 1-2 pitch into center field Thursday to plate Liam Souza for the 11-10 extra-inning walk-off win over the A’s for the Manteca Little League minor-division championship.

Tied after six innings, three two-out walks and a hit batter plated Maverick Memory for the A’s in the top of the seventh for a 10-9 A’s lead. Ronnie Cosio scored for the White Sox in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 10-10.

Jace Reynolds doubled and scored a run for the White Sox. Jaiden Reed and A.J. Haines each scored two runs for the White Sox with Jace Reynolds, Ronnie Souza, Reed Strmiska, Maverick Ochoa and Marcus Aldridge each adding a run.

Austin Stirrat went 2 for 3 with an RBI, two doubles and three runs for the A’s. Greysen Keller knocked in three runs, going 2 for 3. Logan Stirrat and Memory scored two runs apiece with Michael Bingham scoring one run.

The White Sox will represent Manteca in the District 67 Minors Tournament of Champions beginning Saturday, June 17.

 

Majors

White Sox 13, Giants 4

The White Sox tallied two four-run innings on the way to the majors

Blake Scalise and Luke Scalise had the big bats for the White Sox, both going 2 for 3 with Blake scoring three times behind a pair of doubles and Luke adding a triple and a run. Herman San Nicholas (2 for 2, two runs), Brian Geer (double, three runs), Brock Carabello (two runs) and Alex Lua (run) rounded out the White Sox attack.

Layton Cozby went 2 for 3 and scored two runs for the Giants. Terrance Montgomery and Santino Sanchez each added a run and Logan Davenport doubled.  

The White Sox will represent Manteca in the District 67 Majors Tournament of Champions beginning Saturday, June 17.
