The host Tracy Buccaneers varsity scored 14 fourth-quarter points for the come-from-behind 26-20 win over the Manteca Jr. Buffaloes in Trans-Valley Youth Football and Cheer action at West High School in Tracy.

Manteca’s Vinny Diaz racked up 238 yards on 23 carries with scoring runs of 8, 39 and 60 yards. Navi Murillo contributed to the offense.
Diaz totaled seven tackles and forced a fumble. Murillo added six tackles, Aiden Freitas and Aizen English five each with two apiece for Grayson Keller and Ethan Bonderer.

Lathrop Jr. Spartans 12, Manteca Cowboys 8

Lathrop’s Logan Martinez scored two touchdowns.

Martinez (13 carries, 146 yards) posted a 20-yard touchdown run and pulled in a 20-yard touchdown catch from Kenneth Certuche on a busted play during a punt attempt.

Juan Pablo Flores (two fumble recoveries) and Martinez made four stops each.

Manteca’s Aiden Howe (eight carries, 40 yards scored on a 33-yard run. Jaxon Coenenburg, Noah Cedano and Mateo Salcido contributed to the offense.

Howe made six tackles, Mateo Montez (fumble recovery) five, with four each for Nicholas Rangel and Josiah Hopkins four. Jack Bennedtti recovered a fumble, Cedano snagged an interception while Ernesto Cruz, Mateo Ramirez and Juan Carlos Salcido contributed to the defense.

Junior varsity

Jr. Spartans 12, Cowboys 0

Lathrop’s Dominic Ramos and Claudio Rivera each scored a touchdown.

Ramos scored on a 2-yard run and Rivera pulled in a 27-yard scoring pass from Jordan room (six carries, 75 yards). 

Moses Ramirez made eight tackles for the Jr. Spartans, Ethan Jones six, Fabian Islas four and Rivera made an interception.

Manteca’s C.J. Stevens gained 50 yards on 14 carries. Mateo Gavino, C.J. Stevens and A.J. Aguirre contributed to the offense.

Aguirre posted nine tackles and recovered a fumble. Jayden Grimil added six stops, Ruben Cedano five with four each for Leonardo Valencia, Ivan Torres, Abel George and Stevens.

Rookies 

Cowboys 19, Jr. Spartans 12

Lathrop’s Jaseaon Baker and Josh Certuche each scored a touchdown.

Baker (12 carries, 60 yards) scored on a 1-yard run and Certuche (seven carries, 83 yards) ran in a score from 42 yards out. Marshall Johnwell contributed to the offense.

Johnwell and Gilbert Arreola made four tackles apiece. Baker forced and recovered a fumble. 

Buccaneers 20, Jr. Buffaloes 7

Evan Hernandez scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 4-yard run.

Jeremiah Williams added 49 yards on 10 carries for the Jr. Buffaloes and Jessy Arceo 37 yards on two carries.

Manteca’s Michael Somera made eight tackles, Williams (interception, forced fumble and fumble recovery) and Gilbert Maldonado six each and Jessy Arceo three.

Jr. Buffaloes 44, Buccaneers 0

Manteca’s Brixxton Fryer and Carter Louis combined for six touchdowns and more than 300 rushing yards.

Fryer ran for 181 yards with a pair of 5-yard scoring runs and one of 45 yards. Louis (149 yards rushing) posted touchdown runs of 35, 43 and 60 yards and Adrian Mena returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown.  
Easton Franco led the Jr. Buffaloes with six tackles while Louis and Tate Gallardo added four stops each.

Jr. Spartans 13, Cowboys 0

Lathrop’s Isaac Certuche scored two touchdowns.

Certuche (four carries, 92 yards) scored on a 70-yard run and a 27-yard catch from Aiden Teramu. Rayce Collado contributed to the offense.

Giovanni Sanchez made seven tackles for the Jr. Spartans with six apiece for Collado and August Allen.

Manteca’s Andrew Cypert posted 86 rushing yards and Austin Chaney 27. Cypert tallied five tackles and Omar Castillo three.
