Manteca varsity scores 36-0 win

Angel Garay did it all for the Manteca Jaguars varsity with three offensive touchdowns, a 51-yard interception for a touchdown, six tackles and a fumble recovery in a 36-0 shellacking of the host Ceres Seahawks in Cen-Cal action on Saturday.

Jaimare Wayne (five carries, 90 yards) had a 53-yard touchdown run and Derion Chavis had 65 yards on eight carries. Jakub Kawakami was 3 for 4 passing.

Gerardo Escobar and Jason Steele had eight tackles each. Evan Ott and Gabriel Ramirez added stops apiece and Dominic Rea had three tackles and an interception. .

 

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 14,

Modesto Broncos 6

Kyle Jackson had two touchdowns for the visiting Jr. Buffaloes at Modesto Christian High School.

 Jacob DeJesus had 87 yards rushing for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Trevon Barquet  led the defense with eight and Evans Nicolas had five stops for Manteca. Tyler Garlets had an interception.

 

Junior varsity

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 13,

Modesto Broncos 6 (OT)

 Calvin Ramsey had 15 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown for the Jr. Buffaloes and Justin Beglau had the other Manteca touchdown..

 

Kekoa Nicolas had 13 carries for 92 yards to lead the Jr. Buffaloes offense. Daymari Cox made 11 tackles, Amaiya Guyton added five stops, Eduardo Lomeli and Justin Park four apiece and Calvin Ramsey, Antonio Hernandez and Nicolas each made three tackles. 

 

Peewee 

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 19, Modesto Broncos 6

Jason Seabron had 65 yards on seven carries with three touchdowns for the Jr. Buffaloes. 

 Daniel Rushing added 40 yards on five carries and Cole Ramsey 16 yards on three carries. Cole Stonum made 10 tackles with Rushing and Ramsey each adding two stops.

Timberwolves 34,

Dubling Fighting Irish 6

The Manteca Jr. Timberwolves novice clinched a Delta Youth Football League playoff spot Sunday with a 34-6 thrashing of the visiting Dublin Fighting Irish at Dino Cunial Field. 

 Ryan Vanarsdell (four carries, 132 yards) scored on runs of 94 and 35 yards. Luke Abrew (3 of 5 passing, 65 yards) connected with Sammy Haena on a 30-yard pass play and Tommy Perea (eight carries, 50 yards) had an 8yard touchdown run. Zavier Sadorra added a 1-yard scoring run for Manteca.

 Caden Salas led the Jr. Timberwolves defense with eight tackles, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Mitch Lill added six tackles, Eric Fitch five and C.J. Williams (forced fumble) four

 

Jr. Novice

Manteca Jr. Timberwolves 21, Dublin Fighting Irish 0

 

The stingy Jr. Timberwolves defense gave up just 86 yards and was led by Andrew DeFrenchi and Jeremy Douglas with six tackles each and Albert Menchaca made a tackle at the 2-yard line to keep the shutout. Jeremaia Harrison and Julian Moncada added four stops apiece. 

 Douglas had 91 yards on 10 carries with touchdowns on runs of 53, 13, and 2 yards and DeFrenchi churned out 105 yards on 14 carries.

 

Mountain Valley League varsity

Ripon Chiefs to

Waterford Sabrecats

he Ripon Chiefs varsity used a balanced attack Saturday to handle the visiting Waterford Sabercats in Mountain Valley Football league action at Stouffer Field. 

Brandon Rainer (five carries, 50 yards) had rushing touchdowns 5 and 10 yards to lead the Chiefs ground attack that accumulated 234 yards from nine different ball carriers. Danny Hernadez added three carries for 48 yards, Grant Wiebe seven carries for 43 yards and and Aiden Benzinger had three carries for 35 yards with a 9-yard touchdown. Gunnar Bertsch scored on a 5-yard run and Nico Ilardi (3 of 6 passing, 80 yards) had a 30-yard completion to Troy Brogan with touchdown throws of 20 yards to Aaron McDonough and 30 yards to Matthew Padilla.

Rainer added a touchdown on defense when he scooped up a fumble and raced 55 yards for a touchdown. Benzinger had a 65-yard interception return and Wiebe a fumble recovery. 

Caleb Delgado led the gang-tackling Ripon defense with six tackles. Leobardo Ochoa and Rainer had five stops each, Benzinger four and Aaron Stevenson and Boogie Barnett three apiece. 

 

DYSA League varsity

Manteca Cowboys 49,

Galt Warriors 0

Eric Morales had three carries for 187 yards – all three were for touchdowns – to lead the Manteca Cowboys varsity to a 49-0 win over the visiting Galt Warriors in DYSA action on Saturday at Dino Cunial Field.

 Morales had two touchdown runs if 65 yards and a third of 57 yards. Morales was also 4 of 8 passing with a 22-yard scoring throw to Leo Bonilla and a 60-yard touchdown pass to Nicco Cedollini. Bonilla had a 5-yard touchdown run, Sergio Espinosa returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown and Dominic Valentine had 45 yards on four carries.

Leo Bonilla was the star of the defense with five tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception. Marcus Williams, Jacob Creamer and Justin Mount all had fumble recoveries and Joey Aguirre had three tackles.  

 

Junior varsity

Manteca Cowboys 36,

Galt Warriors 6

 Lyon Colon led the Cowboys junior varsity with 85 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns 

 Daniel Morales (two carries, 40 yards; 4 of 7 passing, 33 yards) had a touchdown run and scoring pass to Bryan Howe. Dennis Crum (five carries, 54 yards) added a touchdown run.

 Crum had quite the game on defense with 12 tackles, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a blocked punt. Angelo Lopez was in on 10 tackles, Aiden Twiggs seven, Fank Clark six, Daniel Morales (pass deflection) four and Colon three.

 Gabriel Flores led the balanced Cowboys offense with eight carries for 78 yards incuding a 38-yard touchdown run.

 Anthony Morales had the other Manteca touchdown on a 7-yard run and completed two passes for 26 yards, one of which was a 6-yard pass to Blake Mount (six carries, 52 yards). Robbie Espinosa had seven carries for 49 yards

Flores dominated on defense as well with 11 tackles. Gavin Goodwin had seven stops, Izik Quezada with six, Robbie Espinosa five and Blake Mount and Lucas Garcia four apiece.

 

Rookies 

Manteca Cowboys 32,

Galt Warriors 6

 The Cowboys scored 19 points in the third quarter. 

 Bryant Davis had one touchdown on the ground and had a touchdown pass of 33 yards to Angel Ramirez. Trey Moreland rushed for 67 yards with touchdown runs of 25 and 29 yards and Back Roland Brown had 100 yards rushing with a 60-yard touchdown run. Ryan Torres rushed for 46 yards with four first downs

Frank Beltran, Nickolas Luna, Rafael Espinosa and Angel Ramirez each had seven tackles. Nico Salcido had five stops, Alex Cervantes, Roman Murillo, Ryan Faias and Donovan Jones four apiece, Ryan Torres and Bryson Davis three each with Alex Sena, Semaj Moore, Andrew Barnett, Ivan Alvarez, Izayah Houston all getting two apiece.
