Former East Union girls basketball standout Olivia Vezaldenos is shining on the court for one of the state’s top junior college programs.

She scored 69 points over three games in the Solano Tournament this past weekend and was named to the all-tournament team, after amassing 28 points in Chabot College’s 85-74 win over Lassen.

The one-time Valley Oak League MVP graduated as the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in East Union history in 2016. Vezaldenos currently leads Chabot (7-2) with 19.1 points per game to go with 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

Ranked No. 13 in the California Community College Women’s Basketball Coaches Association state poll, the Gladiators next take on No. 6 Fresno City (8-3) today in the West Hills Tournament.
