SanDisk buys software manufacturer FlashSoft

MILPITAS  (AP) — SanDisk Corp., which makes flash memory, on Wednesday said that it had acquired FlashSoft Corp., a venture-funded startup that makes software that helps speed up servers with flash memory.

Milpitas, Calif.-based SanDisk didn't reveal how much it paid, but said it doesn't expect the acquisition to affect earnings this year and will start adding to earnings next year.

SanDisk said Sunnyvale, Calif.-based FlashSoft's software will form the basis of a line of software solutions for servers that use flash memory.

FlashSoft's investors included Thomvest Ventures, Divergent Ventures, Accelerator Ventures and Bullpen Capital.
