Sometimes wherever we are is where were supposed to be...
story-2-car-upside-down

By PHIL WATERFORD

About four months ago, as I was getting ready for church, God revealed something to me that changed my whole day. If you’ve ever met my wife Rose, you probably know that she is naturally beautiful; however, it takes me a little longer to achieve my good looks...

I received a “Spiritual Download”. God told me to take my time that morning, don’t rush, when I ARRIVE at church, I will be on time. He also revealed “wherever I’m at, is where I’m supposed to be”. None of this made any sense until it happened...

As we were traveling from Modesto to Livermore, traffic came to a screeching halt. All we could see were red brake lights in the pouring rain. The third car in front of us was clipped from the rear and it began to roll over until it landed upside down. Cars were still traveling at a high rate of speed. I couldn’t believe this, it was like watching a movie. I immediately jumped out of my vehicle and ran towards this disabled car. I could hear screams which were coming from a young girl who was trapped inside. I had to get on my knees to look inside of her vehicle, which was upside down. As I reached in to release her seat belt, the driver dropped into my arms as I guided her out of the vehicle.

AMAZING, she had no visible signs of injury! She was hysterical as she looked back at her damaged car. She kept talking about her 4 month old daughter who, thank God, was not traveling with her at the time. As I held this precious girl in my arms we both began to cry as I explained to her that it is a miracle that she is alive. Through the grace of God she was not injured and her daughter was not traveling with her in the car.

It finally made sense to me why I was not to rush this morning. If I had left my house 30 seconds earlier perhaps I would have been directly involved in this accident. If I left 45 seconds earlier I would have missed everything. When I left my home that morning I was where God wanted me to be. I witnessed a miracle. There is nothing more precious than human life.

Later that evening, my wife posted a picture on Facebook of this horrific accident with a story of how this unfolded right in front of our eyes. Many of our friends made comments inquiring about the condition of the driver. I was quick to inform everyone that she was okay.

About 2:30 A.M. I received a private message that read: “Dear Mr Waterford you are truly an angel on earth and your story made me realize there are truly good in complete strangers. That young woman you pulled from that car was my beautiful daughter Jessica and our family is so thankful that you stopped. This evening she spoke of you to our family and saying how God is so good and faithful. We are so thankful you were there just at the right time. God bless you and your wife.”    What are the chances that God would reveal “wherever you’re at is where you’re supposed to be” especially that morning. He made it clear I was not to rush. How did the mother of this young girl, whom I’ve never met and  lives in a different state see this on social media?

Every time you receive what some call a coincidence or an answered prayer, it’s a direct and personal message of reassurance from God to you. Take time to listen...

I don’t know a lot about theology, however, what I do know is that God wants us to stop worrying. Keep the faith and that everything will be alright. Let’s face it, if enough people care we can change ANYTHING!
