Successful Thinkers – a new local organization – conducted their first meeting in Manteca on Friday at Kelley Brothers.

This new local chapter is an organization of local and regional business people with chapters in other communities in California and around the country.  People invite others to attend the meetings and network weekly to share in some basic principles, called the six pillars of Successful Thinkers.  These principles are about building character for one’s self and others.  These six pillars include: Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

The first meeting was coordinated by Al Moncada, public relations director for Manteca Ford and dealership owner Phil Waterford.

Waterford gave an inspirational talk about his experiences in the business world and how he has attempted to align his company and family with the six pillars of principles over the years.  Waterford’s message came through clearly that how you treat other people is totally up to us.  He suggested that if people make a difference for someone else, giving without expectation, that good things happen.

Before and after Waterford’s address, there were other brief presentations about the organization’s cause, as well as networking. The group plans to meet weekly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kelly Brothers and other communities around the area.
