Two new dining spots in Spreckels
Placeholder Image
The short-lived Taco del Mar on Spreckels Avenue in front of Petco is being replaced with the Matsu Mayama restaurant.

Partners Steven Chinson Wu, Chin Mei Chang, and Che M. Chang are pursuing the opening of the new Manteca dining spot.

It isn’t the only new restaurant opening in the Spreckels Park Area.

Chinese Food 4 Less is opening soon next door to Food 4 Less.

The Orange Treat – a frozen yogurt shop a few doors down from Chipotle’s Mexican Grill  and Scores hair styling - is expected to open shortly as well.

The same firm that developed that project where those three businesses are – Spreckels Park North – has secured two tenants for the new retail center located on the southwest corner of Commerce Drive and Yosemite Avenue. One is T-Mobile and the other is an office of some type.

The Spreckels Park North owner has purchased the old bowling alley site between the Big Boy Market Center and McDonald’s for additional retail space that they’ll build at a future date.

PMZ moving on out to the west side
PMZ Real Estate is getting ready to move.

The firm has been located for years on South Main Street behind Dairy Queen.

They explored building their own office on West Yosemite Avenue at Fishback Road but the changing economy several years ago prompted them to shelf those plans.

Now, like the clients they sell to, they apparently saw a good deal triggered by the market. They’re going to become the highest profile tenant in the Meridian Business Park on the southwest corner of Winters Drive and West Yosemite Avenue across from Las Casuelas Mexican Restaurant.
