Sequoia Heights Baptist Church has selected Dan Mahaffie as the new Associate Pastor in charge of youth. He is the son of Senior Pastor, Dr. Mark and Lanell Mahaffie.
Dan was a member of the church as a teen. He received his Associate of Arts degree from San Joaquin Delta College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist University in Riverside. Currently he is working on his Master of Divinity degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dan worked at Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands as Youth Worship Leader, Spiritual Life Director, academic counselor and bible teacher. He was also the head varsity baseball coach. Just before moving back to Manteca, Dan worked as the senior pastor at Utica Baptist Church in Utica, Indiana.
Dan and his wife, Carrie, have two children, a daughter Taylor, 3, and a son Cameron, four months.
Dan’s plans for the Youth include: a Youth Council, encouraging the youth to attend Summer Youth Camps, State Youth Conference and Mission trips. He is willing to train Youth with musical abilities and have a Youth Band. He plans to teach the Youth about serving each other, the church members, the seniors and the community.
