Offering four different types of steak, including New York, filet mignon, porterhouse or rib eye, the Elegant Bull is an established choice for many locals looking for a nice piece of meat. Bringing their experience from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Central Valley, Frank and Karen Machado have provided locals a unique dining experience for almost 25 years.
“We buy the steaks in bulk and we cut them here any size you like,” said Frank Machado. “It’s always choice to prime grade.”
While the most popular choice of side for a steak at the Elegant Bull is the baked potato, diners can choose from a variety of offerings including french fries, sweet potato fries, rice, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, or pasta. If customers are looking for a more unique experience, they can treat their taste buds to the Elegant Bull’s Portuguese steak: a steak laden with garlic, sautéed in garlic, butter, red wine and special herbs with two eggs cooked on top and surrounded in a bed of French fries. This unique creation is what sets the Elegant Bull apart from comparable steak restaurants in the area.
“We have a lot of Bay Area style combination shellfish dinners too,” explained Frank Machado. “Men tend to like the steak and women like the lobster, but we also do stuffed sole and snapper which are different for this area.”
The Elegant Bull is open Wednesday through Sunday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch. The Elegant Bull is located at 9666 Stephens Street in Delhi and to access the restaurant from highway 99 south take the South Street exit, turn right and the destination is on your right.
