Beer and football is a classic tradition for a lot of Americans, which makes The Brew House at Hero’s a natural place to post up for Super Bowl Sunday.

The Brew House at Hero’s, formally known as Hero’s Sports Bar and Pizza Company, is under new ownership by Bill Coffey, who has been involved at Hero’s since the age of 16. The new brew house restaurant features over 20 beers on tap and pub seating with views of the 15 television screens on which to watch the game.

“We’ve got three big screens and several others, there is no way you can escape a screen at Hero’s,” said manager Ed Stiarimi, who noted that the restaurant is popular with local teams.

While Hero’s features a variety of brews, it is also known as a reliable place for good food serving hot wings, nachos, garlic fries, calamari, burgers and pizza. Their most popular pizza is the Hero’s Hawaiian, which features shredded ham, pepperoni, pineapple and jalapenos.

“We’re a small family place. It’s cozy and comfortable and a fun place where you can really get into the game,” said Stiarimi.

The Brewhouse at Hero’s is located at 821 L St., in Modesto. To access the restaurant from 99 North take the CA-132, CA-108 exit, turn right onto L Street and the destination is on your left.
