Getting the family together outdoors is a great way to get healthy, especially while healthy New Year’s resolutions are fresh, and Modesto offers a multitude of parks for a family outing.

Graceada Park in Modesto offers a several ways to keep the family active with a playground, full tennis courts and bleachers, and a water play place. With large grassy fields conducive to family picnics and games, Graceada Park provides a fun and free family environment.

“I think people take advantage of the park daily and really enjoy it. They can rent out space for parties and there’s a large playground for children between the ages of two and 12. It really is a community park and it’s centrally located,” said Loren Holt, manager of Parks, Planning and Development Division for the City of Modesto.

Graceada Park runs side by side to Enslen Park, which recently received a revival to its baseball fields where Junior Giants and Little League  teams can play. Enslen also offers horseshoes and volleyball courts for park-goers entertainment, and both parks offer restroom facilities as well.

Graceada Park is located at 401 Needham Street and Enslen is located at 501 Stoddard Avenue in Modesto. To access Graceada Park from Highway 99 north, take the exit toward Vernalis Central Modesto and merge onto 6th Street, turn right onto K Street and left onto 14th Street. At the second cross street turn right onto Needham Street and left onto Sycamore Avenue and the destination will be on the left. To get to Enslen Park from Graceada Park, head north on Sycamore Avenue toward Wright Street then take the first left onto Stoddard Avenue and the destination is on the right.
