Locals looking for a calming reprieve from the stress of daily life won’t need to look far as The Spa of Turlock has all of the offerings of a quiet oasis.

Founded by husband and wife Ralph and Bobbi Clayton in 1998, The Spa has become a well-known retreat for locals. The couple entered the spa business after one of their four daughters, an esthetician, encouraged the couple to pursue the wellness industry. Per her request, the couple has successfully operated The Spa in downtown Turlock since the 1990s where it has become a reliable and relaxing escape.

“I think people come here because we are safe and clean. Our employees have been with us a long time and people can see the same therapist if they like,” said Ralph. “We are conveniently located and accessible; when you call us we answer.”

The Spa plays host to 12 different therapists who contract with the spa and offer a variety of services. Among the most popular are massages, body wraps, facials, waxing and natural manicures. Drawing a wide demographic of clientele, the positive and relaxing environment promotes health and wellness.

“The great thing about this industry is that people want to be here. This is an awesome business,” said Ralph, who notes that it is rewarding to have clients who leave his business happier than when they arrived.  

The Spa’s services range in price, for example a one hour stress relief massage is $65 while a Men’s Retreat Spa Package, which includes a one hour massage, a men’s facial and manicure, is $155. The Spa also offers more expensive options for those considering facial peels or microdermabrasion while nail treatments start at just $20.00.

To get to The Spa from Highway 99 South, take the Fulkerth Exit and continue onto Fulkerth Road which becomes Hawkeye Avenue. Turn right onto North Olive Avenue and the destination is on the right, at 733 East Olive Avenue.

The Spa is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m . on Mondays,  10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 9a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The Spa is closed on Sundays.
