Courtney Settle is the first winner in this year’s Manteca Bulletin Great Pumpkin Hunt.

She found the gold pumpkin Saturday at 11 a.m. in tumbleweeds near the exit driveway to the McDonald’s at Fishback Road and Daniels Street. She received $100 for finding the pumpkin.

She said she started looking at 2:30 a.m. and first went to the area around the Bass Pro Shops.

The clues were:

• Something fishy is going on here. — A reference to Fishback Road

• This is my kind of place. — Inspired by an old McDonald’s commercial jingle

• Isn’t that an Elton John song? — It refers to the song “Daniel” as it was near Daniels Street.

• Is this the way to the Sierra? — Fishback Street takes you by Sierra High.

Clues will appear in every Saturday Bulletin through the end of October. Each week $100 will go to who finds the golden pumpkin.
