Ambulance biller receives national recognition

Manteca District Ambulance’s Billing Manager Melissa Anaya has received national recognition for completion of the National Billing Coders Training Program.

Anaya has successfully passed the course and finished in the top ten nationally. Biller coding training allows the ambulance service to receive reimbursement from State and Federal Payers in a timely manner. The company is able to recover costs much quicker due to accurate records and information to insurance companies.

Manteca District Ambulance is a private not for profit company. They employ over 30 paramedics and EMTs. The company has been serving the Manteca and Lathrop communities since 1951.

The billing department is what provides revenues to operate the company as it receives no public subsidy and is fee-for-service based. The company provides both emergency and non emergency ambulance care. Patients are treated based on need not their ability to pay.
