Big demand prompts one more day for Perrys place

One of the biggest draws during the Halloween season in Manteca is the Phil and Gerry Perry home in the 1500 block of Spage Sparrow Avenue in southwest Manteca.

Based on the turnout so far this year and the fact 600 people went through the family’s free haunted house last Halloween, the Perrys are adding an additional night for folks to stop by in a bid to meet the demand.

In addition to tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. the haunted house will also be open on Friday from 7 to 11 p.m.

Just how popular is the haunted house? People waited last year for up to two hours to go through the house. Many came back and brought friends.  Talk to folks who have been through the house this year and they’ll tell you it is even better than last year. They add it is impossible to enjoy or see everything in just one trip. They also mention the good fairies as tour guides as a nice touch.

Those partaking in the haunted house have been coming from as far away as San Francisco, Fresno, Roseville, Oakland, and San Jose.

The 1,500-square-foot home features 12 rooms.

There’s no charge but rest assured if you opt to make a donation it’ll go to toward making an even bigger and better haunted house experience next year.

Take the Airport Way exit on the 120 Bypass and head south. Turn left on Atherton Drive. The first right is Sparrow Avenue.
