Denises Farmers Market opening stand in Lathrop

Denise’s Farmers Market — a popular produce stand on East Highway 120 midway between Manteca and Escalon across from the winery — is opening a second location in October.

Denise and Kenny Eastburn are reopening the produce stand at the Mathney Road exit on Interstate 5 in Lathrop the same weekend that the 15th annual Dell Osso Pumpkin Maze opens. The Eastburns also plan to have a deli at the location.

All of the produce their sell at their rural Ripon stand is grown within 30 miles. Their clientele consists primarily of Bay Area travelers heading back and forth to the Sierra, foothill commuters, and tourists heading to and from Yosemite.

Prior to starting Denise’s Farmers Market in the spring of 2010, Denise worked 15 years at Schemper’s Hardware in Ripon and for four years was working a second job in the bakery at the Manteca Costco. Kenny also works 30 hours-plus in the flooring business in addition to the fruit stand.
