Contrary to a radio report, a longtime tenant in the Manteca Marketplace shopping center is not closing its doors.

On Tuesday, news began to circulate on the radio that RadioShack would be shutting down its Manteca location. However, the store manager, who wished only to be identified by his first name Bill, said those reports are false.

“The shop in Manteca will remain open,” he said. “They’re closing others, nationwide.”

There was one bit of truth to the broadcast on 650 AM. It warned listeners to head down to the store, located at 1281 W. Yosemite Avenue, next door to the In-Shape Fit, and use any gift cards they might have before it’s too late.

The store, according to the report, wouldn’t accept gift cards beginning today.

“Yes, today is the last day to redeem any gift cards,” Bill confirmed.
